Ja, ein
Fahrrad wollte ich hier auf Anguilla auf jeden Fall mieten: Die Insel ist flach
und nur gerade 91 km (5x18 km) so gross wie der Hallwilersee... und sieht auch
ähnlich aus!
Yes, I definitely wanted to rent a bike here on Anguilla: The island is flat and only 91 km (5x18 km) as big as Lake Hallwil... and looks similar too!

Aber zuerst ging ich am Morgen joggend auf Entdeckungstour... neben dem La Vue Inn (https://lavueinn.com) geht ein Fussweg steil den Hang hinunter und von dort lief ich auf dem 1 km langen Sandy Ground Strand entlang unter 2 Molen durch bis ans andere Ende. Wieder zurück und schwimmen im perfekten Ozean bei den 3 Schiffswracks, bevor es steil aufwärts ging. Einfach nur herrlich, wenn nur der viele Müll nicht wäre! : ( Die Strände sind zwar sauber, aber überall sonst ist der Müll in den Büschen mehr oder weniger versteckt...
But first I went for a run in the morning to explore... next to the La Vue Inn (https://lavueinn.com) there is a footpath that leads steeply down the hill and from there I ran along the 1 km long Sandy Ground each under 2 piers to the other end. Then back and including a swim in the perfect ocean near the 3 shipwrecks before walking steeply uphill. Simply wonderful, if only there wasn't so much trash! : ( The beaches are clean, but everywhere else the rubbish is more or less hidden in the bushes...

Am
Nachmittag wollte ich mich erkunden, wo und wie man hier ein Fahrrad mieten
kann... und so lernte ich Lee von Epic Ride (https://www.facebook.com/epicride.axa),
gleich nebenan, kennen. Er gab mir das Velo für morgen gleich mit und das war
für mich ein Zeichen gleich loszuradeln… und zwar in den Westen um The Arch bei
Tag zu bestaunen! : )
In the afternoon I wanted to find out where and how you can rent a bike here... and so I met Lee from Epic Ride (https://www.facebook.com/epicride.axa), right next door. He gave me the bike for tomorrow and that was a sign for me to start cycling straight away… to the west to admire The Arch by day! : )

Gestern
sass ich 2 Stunden im Sattel und am Freitag waren es 3 Stunden: zuerst nach
Blowing Point, wo ich vor 2 Tagen angekommen war, dann der Forest Bay entlang
in die Hauptstadt The Valley. - Was stellt man sich unter Hauptstadt vor?
Sicher nicht The Valley, das eher wie ein Weiler aussieht: einzelne Häuser
verstreut auf einem grossen Gebiet. Und es gibt auch nichts, das mich hielt dort,
so dass ich weiterredete nach Crocus Bay und einen wohlverdienten Rast
einlegte... und mich im Meer soweit es ging abkühlte: von 36 auf 32 Grad und
nass! : )

Yesterday I sat in the saddle for 2 hours and on Friday it was 3 hours:
first to Blowing Point, where I had arrived 2 days ago, then along Forest Bay
to the capital The Valley. - What do you imagine a capital to be? Certainly not
The Valley, which looks more like a hamlet: individual houses scattered over a
large area. And there's nothing that kept me there either, so I continued on to
Crocus Bay and took a well-deserved rest... and cooled off as much as it was in
the sea: from 36 to 32 degrees and wet! : )
