Die James Hughes Apartments (https://www.facebook.com/catman28) in West End sind von einigen der schönsten der 33 Strände Anguillas umzingelt - und ich wollte sie ablaufen und -joggen, mit einigen Kletterpartien zwischen Stränden, wie sich herausstellte... und ich wollte bei klarer See schnorcheln gehen. - Einfach nur genial, ich schaffte alles zu Fuss oder Davy fuhr mich ein Stück. Anfangs Woche war es meist bewölkt und es ging eine leichte Brise, was ich als sehr angenehm empfand... auch die nächtlichen Tropengüsse! : )
The James Hughes Apartments (https://www.facebook.com/catman28) in West End are surrounded by some of the most beautiful of Anguilla's 33 beaches - and I wanted to walk and run them, with some climbing between beaches as it turned out... and I wanted to go snorkelling in the clear ocean. - Simply brilliant, I managed everything on foot or Davy drove me a bit. At the beginning of the week it was mostly cloudy and there was a light breeze, which I found very pleasant... even the tropical downpours at night! : )

Diese
Woche verbrachte ich mit der Planung meiner Weiterreise durch die Kleinen
Antillen, was doch nicht ganz so einfach war als ich dachte... denn in der
Nebensaison sind die Fahrpläne drastisch verringert und ich kann nur via St.
Martin nach Saba gelangen... zudem muss ich von Marigot, der französischen
Seite, nach Philipsburg, auf der Niederländischen Seite gelangen... Ich nehme
mal an, dass es nicht ganz so schlimm ist wie auf den Kapverden (https://franziskaaeschbach28.blogspot.com), wo die wenigen
Transportmöglichkeiten, ob per Schiff oder Flugzeug, immer hoffnungslos
ausgebucht waren... Mal sehen, es wird schon klappen!?
I spent this week planning my onward journey through the Lesser Antilles, which wasn't quite as easy as I thought... because in the off-season the schedules are drastically reduced and I can only get to Saba via St. Martin... and I need to get from Marigot, on the French side, to Philipsburg, on the Dutch side... I assume it's not quite as bad as in Cape Verde (https://franziskaaeschbach28.blogspot.com), where the few transport options, whether by ship or plane, were always hopelessly booked up... Let's see how it will work out!?

Anguilla
erinnert mich an Barbados... eine kleine flache Koralleninsel, weisse
Traumstrände und hoher Standard. Ich war 1997 das erste Mal in der Karibik: 1
Woche Barbados und 1 Woche Antigua. Damals wurde in Barbados alles importiert
und ich konnte es nicht glauben, dass die Einheimischen nichts selbst
anpflanzen auf ihrem fruchtbaren Boden, wo doch alles spriesst? Das hat sich
über die Jahre zum Glück verändert - ich war inzwischen 8-mal auf Barbados (https://franziskaaeschbach12.blogspot.com)! Und es ist auch auf den
Seychellen (https://franziskaaeschbach26.blogspot.com) so: Alle arbeiten im Tourismus
und machen viel Geld, so dass sie sich die überteuerten Produkte leisten
können, und sie haben keine Zeit sich um gesundes Essen zu kümmern... Wie
überall auf unserem Planeten geht man heute einfach in den Laden, wo es alles
hat und wir nicht mal wissen, dass eine Banane 1 Jahr benötigt, bis man sie
essen kann, und dass der Baum nur einmal Obst gibt und nachher abstirbt.
Anguilla reminds me of Barbados... a small, flat coral island, white dream beaches and a high standard. 1997 I came for the first time to the Caribbean: 1 week in Barbados and 1 week in Antigua. Back then, everything in Barbados was imported and I couldn't believe that the locals didn't grow anything themselves on their fertile soil, where everything sprouts? Fortunately, that has changed over the years - I have been to Barbados 8 times now (https://franziskaaeschbach12.blogspot.com)! And it is the same in the Seychelles (https://franziskaaeschbach26.blogspot.com): Everyone works in tourism and makes a lot of money thus can afford the overpriced products, and they have no time to worry about healthy food... Like everywhere else on our planet, today you just go to the shop where there is everything and we do not even know that a banana takes 1 year to grow, that the tree only bears fruit once and then dies.

Ja, wir
Menschen haben uns weit weg von der Natur entfernt! Und wir verlassen uns
lieber auf die künstliche Intelligenz als die Natur zu beobachten - vielleicht
dauert letzteres zu lange? Übrigens habe ich erfahren, dass Anguilla in den
letzten Jahren 30 Millionen Dollar eingenommen hat, und zwar wegen der
künstlichen Intelligenz: ai (auf englisch artificial intelligence) ist die
Domain von Anguilla... welche sie teuer verkaufen...

Yes, we humans have moved far away from nature! And we prefer to rely on
artificial intelligence rather than observe nature - maybe the latter takes too
long? By the way, I learned that Anguilla has earned 30 million dollars in
recent years because of artificial intelligence: ai is Anguilla's domain...
which they sell at a high price...
