Meinen
letzten Morgen auf Anguilla verbrachte ich mit einem Morgenspaziergang und Schwimmen
in der Maundrys Bay, nur gerade 10 Minuten zu Fuss im Süden von den James
Hughes Apartments (https://www.facebook.com/catman28).
I spent my last morning on Anguilla with a morning walk and a swim in Maundrys Bay, just a 10-minute walk south of the James Hughes Apartments (https://www.facebook.com/catman28).

Um 11:30
Uhr holte mich Davy ab und fuhr mich zur Fähre Station Blowing Point. Ich war
diese Woche schon mal dort um ein Ticket von Anguilla nach Marigot, St. Martin (https://www.portdemarigot.com/en/gare)
zu kaufen, da es momentan online nicht funktioniert… aber die arrogante Tante
am Schalter schaute mich nicht mal an und sagte, ich soll eine halbe Stunde vor
Abfahrt wieder kommen… Genau dieselbe Frau empfing mich auch heute, aber ihre
Attitude war dasselbe – also hat sie immer schlechte Tage oder kann einfach
nicht lächeln und nett sein? Nach dem freundlichen St. Martin fiel es mir schon
bald auf, dass die meisten der Einwohner auf Anguilla verwöhnte Menschen sind… etwa
so wie auf Turks & Caicos (https://franziskaaeschbach14.blogspot.com/2015/12/27122015-cabarete-dominican-republic.html),
zum Glück traf ich auch andere, wie Davy! : )
Nachdem ich
USD 28 bei der Ausreise in Anguilla bezahlt hatte und mein Pass abgestempelt
war, gelangte ich in den Wartesalon und fast pünktlich um 12:30 legten wir ab.
20 Minuten später erreichten wir Marigot in St. Martin. Wie ich bereits erklärt
habe, ist mein nächstes Reiseziel Saba zurzeit nur über St. Martin erreichbar… zudem
musste ich per Taxi nach Philipsburg, auf die holländische Seite – aber das war
ein Zuckerschlecken, denn bei der Ankunft in Marigot standen die freundlichen
Mr. Handsome (+1-721-5805638) & Junee bereit – Willkommen auf der freundlichen Insel!
At 11:30 am Davy picked me up and drove me to the Blowing Point ferry station. I was there earlier this week to buy a ticket from Anguilla to Marigot, St. Martin (https://www.portdemarigot.com/en/gare) as it is currently not working online… but the arrogant lady at the counter didn't even look at me and said I should come back half an hour before departure… The exact same woman welcomed me today, but her attitude had not changed – thus: Does she always have bad days or just is not able to smile and be nice? After the friendly island St. Martin, I soon noticed that most of the inhabitants of Anguilla are spoiled people... a bit like on Turks & Caicos (https://franziskaaeschbach14.blogspot.com/2015/12/27122015-cabarete-dominican-republic.html), luckily I also met others, like Davy! : )
After I paid USD 28 exit fee on Anguilla and my passport was stamped, I proceeded to the waiting room and we set off almost on time at 12:30. 20 minutes later we reached Marigot in St. Martin. As I already have explained, my next destination, Saba, is currently only accessible via St. Martin... I also had to take a taxi to Philipsburg, on the Dutch side - but that was a piece of cake, because when I arrived in Marigot the friendly Mr. Handsome (+1-721-5805638) & Junee were waiting for me - welcome to the friendly island!

Eine
halbe Stunde später erreichten wir Philipsburg. Ich hatte die Makana Fähre (https://makanaferryservice.com) online gebucht und
konnte mein Gepäck bereits einchecken, nur war dieses zu viel und schwer und
ich bezahlte USD 30 drauf – 1/3 des Fahrpreises… Da ich noch 1 Stunde Zeit
hatte, schlenderte ich durch die Einkaufsstrassen und blieb eine Weile bei den
netten Angestellten der Vanity First (https://www.facebook.com/vanityfirstsxm),
die mir ein Glas Champagner und Häppchen vom Aperobuffet anboten. : )
Half an hour later we reached Philipsburg. I had booked the Makana ferry (https://makanaferryservice.com) online and was able to check in my luggage, but it was too much and heavy and I paid USD 30 extra - 1/3 of the fare... Since I still had an hour, I strolled through the shopping streets and stayed a while with the friendly employees of Vanity First (https://www.facebook.com/vanityfirstsxm), who offered me a glass of champagne and snacks from the aperitif buffet. : )

Wieder
stand Passkontrolle an und mit einer halben Stunde Verspätung stach Captain
Dwayne in See. Saba konnte man kaum sehen, die Sicht war schlecht. Aber nach
einer Stunde Fahrt passierten wir entlang der Insel bis wir um 18 Uhr nach
total 1 ½ Stunden auf See in Port Bay, dem Hafen von Saba ankamen. Auch hier
auf Saba wird der Pass kontrolliert und abgestempelt, dann stand ich endlich am
Fusse der Vulkaninsel Saba! Andreis von den El Momo Cottages (http://elmomocottages.com) hatte mir Cyril
mit seinem Taxi geschickt und er fuhr mich ½ Stunde meist rauf aber auch immer wieder
etwas abwärts bis zum Boobyhill in Windwardside. Zum Glück wusste ich nicht,
dass ich dort 100 Treppenstiege mit meinem Gepäck überwinden musste… aber Cyril
half mir und so erreichte ich mein Kokopelli Cottage, wo ich kurze Zeit später todmüde
in mein herrlich weiches Bett fiel…

Passport control was required also on this trip and Captain Dwayne set
sail half an hour late. Saba could hardly be seen, visibility was poor. But
after an hour's drive we passed along the island and arrived at Port Bay, the
port of Saba, at 6 pm after a total of 1 ½ hours on sea. Here on Saba, too,
passports are checked and stamped, then I finally stood at the foot of the
volcanic island of Saba! Andreis from the El Momo Cottages (http://elmomocottages.com) had sent Cyril
with his taxi and he drove me for half an hour, mostly uphill but also downhill
to Boobyhill in Windwardside. Luckily I didn't know that I would have to climb
100 stairs with my luggage... but Cyril helped me and so I reached my Kokopelli
Cottage, where I fell dead tired into my wonderfully soft bed a short time
later...
