Freitag war es wieder einmal Zeit meine Siebensachen zu packen... ich durfte
mein gemütliches Frangipani Studio (https://www.visitmontserrat.com/bed-breakfast-and-guesthouses) bei Gracelyn so lange benutzen,
wie ich benötigte. : ) Da mein Flug zurück nach Antigua erst um 16:30 Uhr war,
beschloss ich einen Taxifahrer zu finden, der mir auf dem Weg zum Flughafen die
Ostküste zeigt - dort war ich noch nicht...
On Friday it was time once again to pack my belongings... Gracelyn gave me checkout whenever I was ready to leave the cozy Frangipani Studio (https://www.visitmontserrat.com/bed-breakfast-and-guesthouses). : ) Since my flight back to Antigua wasn't until 4:30 pm, I decided to find a taxi driver who would show me the east coast on the way to the airport - I hadn't been there yet...

Mit Hilfe
von Gracelyn habe ich Beebeep Taxi (1-664-492 1083)
gefunden, der mich vor der Tür abholte und mich zuerst am neuen Flughafen
vorbei zum alten fuhr, der 2010 vom Vulkan Soufrière unter Asche begraben
wurde.... so schnell kann sich alles verändern!
With Gracelyn's help, I found Beebeep Taxi (1-664-492 1083), who picked me up at the door and drove me past the new airport to the old one, which was buried under ash by the Soufrière volcano in 2010.... everything can change so quickly!

Mein Fly
Monserrat (https://www.flymontserrat.com) war pünktlich- diesmal gab ich
meinen Copiloten-Sitz frei für einen andern Freiwilligen und sass zuhinterst im
7-Passagier Islander. Der Flug dauerte nur gerade 15 Minuten und schon befanden
wir uns in Antigua, wo Charlene von Buzz Car Rental (https://buzzcarrentalantigua.com) mich mit meinem heissgeliebten
Kia Picanto erwartete! : )

eingeladen und mir 'meine' Wohnung bereit gemacht – vielen Dank nochmals an
dieser Stelle! : ) Ich holte meine 3 Taschen bei meinem Nachbarn Richard ab
(die ich während meiner Zeit in Montserrat bei ihm lassen durfte) und begann
mein Gepäck umzusortieren... für meinem Flug morgen nach Barbados...
My Fly Monserrat (https://www.flymontserrat.com) was on time – on this flight I gave up my co-pilot seat for another volunteer and took a seat at the back of the 7-passenger Islander. The flight only took 15 minutes and we were already in Antigua, where Charlene from Buzz Car Rental (https://buzzcarrentalantigua.com) was waiting for me with my beloved Kia Picanto! : )
Tyrone from Timeaway Beach Apartments (https://www.facebook.com/Tawaybeach) had invited me for a night and prepared 'my' apartment for me – once again thanks a lot my friend! : ) I picked up my 3 bags from my neighbour Richard (which I was allowed to leave with him during my time in Montserrat) and started to reorganize my luggage... for my flight to Barbados tomorrow...

nächsten Morgen begann ich mit einem Morgenbad in der Nachbarbucht Dickinson
Bay - herrlich, vor allem wenn das Baden nicht auf allen Inseln so einladend
ist! : )
The next morning I started with a morning swim in the neighbouring Dickinson Bay - wonderful, especially when swimming is not so inviting on all islands! : )

Um 13:30
Uhr hatte ich einen Tisch im Cecilia's (https://highpointantigua.com)
reserviert und stoppte auf dem Weg bei den Markthallen in St. John's. Ich hatte
das schmucke Restaurant am Dutchman's Bay auf einer meiner Entdeckungsfahrten
auf Antigua entdeckt und es befindet sich nur gerade 5 Fahrminuten vom
Flughafen entfernt... Meine Intuition lag wie immer goldrichtig: Ich genoss ein
vorzügliches Thunsteak mit atemberaubender Kulisse...
At 1:30 pm. I had reserved a table at Cecilia's (https://highpointantigua.com) and stopped at the market halls in St. John's on the way. I had discovered the pretty restaurant at Dutchman's Bay on one of my discovery trips on Antigua and it is only a 5-minute drive from the airport... My intuition was spot on as always: I enjoyed an excellent tuna steak with breathtaking settings...

Flughafen gab ich Charlene meinen Mietwagen zurück und begab mich zur
Eincheck-Prozedur, die auf diesem grösseren Flughafen mit vielen
internationalen Flügen seine Zeit beansprucht... Pünktlich um 16:30 Uhr hob die
InterCaribbean (https://www.intercaribbean.com)
Maschine Richtung Süden nach Barbados ab. Es war ein richtiges Flugzeug
und wir benötigten 45 Minuten! ; ) Leider lagen Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia und St. Vincent verborgen unter einer dicken Wolkenschicht.
At the airport I returned my rental car to Charlene and went to the check-in procedure, which takes time at this larger airport with many international flights... The InterCaribbean (https://www.intercaribbean.com) aircraft took off punctually at 4:30 pm heading south to Barbados. It was a real plane and it took 45 minutes! ; ) Unfortunately Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia and St. Vincent were hidden under a thick layer of clouds.

richtigen Zeitpunkt gekommen: Heute war Barbados Unabhängigkeitstag und sie
hatte ein paar Freunde eingeladen... wie sich herausstellte, hatten 5 von 9
Personen Schweizer Wurzeln! : )

My friend Stacey, who I have known for 20 years, picked me up. I had picked
the right timing: Today was Barbados Independence Day and she had invited some
friends... as it turned out: 5 out of 9 people had Swiss roots! : )
