Ich
genoss meinen letzten Morgen im Bliss Castara (+1-868-352
5727) auf Tobago wie immer meist auf meiner herrlichen Terrasse –
diesmal inklusive Packen… Ja, meine 2 Wochen auf Tobago sind um und es ist
Zeit, meine letzte Etappe in der Karibik in Angriff zu nehmen: Meine 6-monatige
Reise durch die Kleinen Antillen gehen langsam dem Ende zu… heute reiste ich
von Tobago zurück zur Mutterinsel Trinidad, wo ich meine restlichen 5 Tage
verbringen werde, bevor es nach Europa geht…
Trinidad
schien sich mir zu verweigern… oder nicht so zu realisieren, wie ich es im Kopf
hatte!? Ich hatte im Sinn auch diese ziemlich grosse Insel (4828 km2)
etwas zu erkunden, was am besten per Auto geht… Aber wie bereits vor 3 Wochen
fand ich keines – ausser ich würde USD 50 und mehr für einen Kleinwagen
bezahlen! : ( Zum Glück war Philena’s The Zen Den (+1-868-359
8785) für mich frei, so hatte ich wenigstens ein geborgenes Zuhause! : )
I enjoyed my last morning at the Bliss Castara (+1-868-352 5727) in Tobago, as always mostly on my beautiful terrace – this time including packing… Yes, my two weeks in Tobago are over, and it's time to embark on my final leg of the Caribbean: My six-month trip through the Lesser Antilles is slowly coming to an end… today I travelled from Tobago back to the mother island of Trinidad, where I will spend my remaining five days before heading to Europe…
Trinidad seemed to elude me… or not realize it the way I had in mind!? wanted to explore this rather large island (4828 km²) a bit as well, which is best done by car… But just like three weeks ago, I couldn't find one – unless I paid $50 or more for a small car! : ( Luckily, Philena's The Zen Den (+1-868-359 8785) was available for me, so at least I had a safe place to call home! : )

Wie
vereinbart, holte mich Mogal um 12 Uhr ab um mich und mein Gepäck zur Fähre in Scarborough zu fahren. Mit einer
gemütlichen Fahrt inkl. interessanten Gesprächen und Reggae Musik machte ich
meine letzte Fahrt durch Tobago und gelangte kurz vor 13 Uhr zum Hafen. Ich
checkte mein Gepäck ein und begab mich an Bord der Trinidad and Tobago
Inter-Island Ferry (https://www.ttitferry.com), um mich auf einem der
herrlichen Premium Sitze bequem zu machen. Die Fahrt dauerte 3 Stunden, meist
sehr ruhig: Der grosse Kahn schien leise über das Meer zu gleiten! : )
In Port
of Spain versuchte ich per TTRide App ein Taxi zu bestellen, aber irgendwie
wollte es nicht, so dass Philena mir eins schickte. Unterwegs machte ich die
allernötigsten Einkäufe…. Und unterdessen hatte ich herausgefunden, dass in
Trinidad Feiertag ist bis und mit Dienstag! – Ahaaa: vor einem Monat Karneval
und jetzt Befreiungstag? - Was genau gefeiert wird, habe ich noch nicht
herausgefunden…

picked me up at 12 pm, as agreed, to take me and my luggage to the ferry in
Scarborough. After a leisurely ride, including interesting conversations and
reggae music, I made my last trip through Tobago and arrived at the port
shortly before 1 pm. I checked in my luggage and boarded the Trinidad and
Tobago Inter-Island Ferry (https://www.ttitferry.com) to
settle into one of the wonderful premium seats. The trip took 3 hours, mostly
very quiet: The large boat seemed to glide silently over the ocean! : )
In Port
of Spain, I tried to order a taxi using the TTRide app, but somehow it wouldn't
work, thus Philena sent me one. On the way, I did the most basic shopping...
And in the meantime, I had discovered that it's a holiday in Trinidad until
Tuesday! – Ahaaa: a month ago it was Carnival, and now Liberation Day? – I
haven't figured out exactly what's being celebrated yet...
