Am Montag (wie fast jeden Tag) hatte es zwei Kreuzfahrtschiffe im Hafen
– für mich ein klares Zeichen für einen Ruhetag! Am späteren Abend schaffte ich es dann an
die Grand Anse zum Joggen und Schwimmen... ein herrlicher Strand, vor allem
ohne Kreuzffahrttouristen! : )
On Monday (as on most days) there were two cruise ships in the harbour - to me a clear sign for a day of rest! Later in the evening I made it to Grand Anse for a run and a swim... a wonderful beach, especially without cruise tourists! : )

Am Dienstag nahm mich Ken vom Ocean View Apartments
(+1-473-449-6507) mit, er musste nach
Sauters, ganz im Norden von Grenada, um ein Terrain zu begutachten... Wir
fuhren der Westküste entlang durch St. Georges und Gouyave nach Sauteurs.
Während die Herren Geschäftliches besprachen, entdeckte ich Schätze dieser
Insel: Kakao, Muskatnuss und Zimt... ich hoffe die Landbesitzer lassen diesen
kleinen Tropenwald stehen und bauen Baumhütten!?
On Tuesday Ken from Ocean View Apartments (+1-473-449-6507) took me with him; he had to go to Sauters, in the very north of Grenada, to inspect a terrain... We drove along the west coast through St. Georges and Gouyave to Sauteurs. While the gentlemen discussed business, I discovered treasures of this island: cocoa, nutmeg and cinnamon... I hope the landowners leave this small tropical forest and build tree houses!?

Nachdem Ken und ich den Levara Strand abspaziert
hatten, machte er auf dem Rückweg einen Desserthalt in der Diamond Schoggifabrik
in Victoria (https://www.jouvaychocolate.com) – hochgepriesen und alt eingesessen.
Es fiel mir während der Fahrt mit Ken auf, dass Grenada bedeutend weniger durch den Hurrikan Beryl verwüstet wurde als auf Carriacou…Und es hat sehr viele Kirchen verschiedener Glaubensrichtungen… die Leute gehen noch zur Kirche. Ein christliches Kreuzfahrtschiff, das Bücher verteilt, stand seit einigen Tage im Hafen… und 2 junge Schwestern eines Ordens sind meine Nachbarn: Eine stammt aus Tonga, was mir viele Erinnerungen meiner Reise nach Neuseeland und Polynesien (https://franziskaaeschbach17.blogspot.com) im 2017 brachte: Tonga ist besonders an Sonntagen speziell, wenn die Familien den ganzen Tag singend, essend und feiernd in den Kirchen verbringen – der Gesang ist einfach nur himmlisch!

After Ken and I had strolled along Levara Beach, he stopped for dessert on the way back at the Diamond Chocolate Factory (https://www.jouvaychocolate.com) in Victoria - highly praised and old established.
While driving with Ken I noticed, that Grenada was significantly less devastated by Hurricane Beryl than Carriacou... And there are very many churches of different believes... people still go to church. A Christian cruise ship, which distributes books, was in the harbour for some days... and 2 young sisters from an order are my neighbours: One is from Tonga, which brought back many memories of my trip to New Zealand and Polynesia (https://franziskaaeschbach17.blogspot.com) in 2017: Tonga is especially special on Sundays, when families spend the whole day singing, eating and celebrating in the churches - the singing is just heavenly!
