Bevor es
morgen weiter geht nach Antigua, wollte ich St. Kitts Schwesterinsel Navis
besuchen... wenigstens für einen Tag... Es hatte die ganze Nacht geregnet und
auch fast den ganzen Morgen... Zeit um zu sehen, was mit meinem Facebook Konto
war: Es war gehackt worden! Jemand schrieb in meinem Namen Hilfeaufrufe! : (
Before heading to Antigua tomorrow, I wanted to visit St. Kitts' sister island Navis... at least for a day... It had rained all night and most of the morning... Time to check what had happened to my Facebook account: It had been hacked! Someone was writing calls for help in my name! : (

Um 10 Uhr
mit Regenschirm bewaffnet spazierte ich zum Kreisel und streckte meinen Daumen
raus. Wie immer musste ich nicht lange warten und heute fuhr mich Kamal direkt
zum Hafen in Basseterre! Ich löste ein Ticket und 10 Minuten später fuhr eine der SKN Vibes Fähren (https://www.sknvibes.com/travel/new_ferry.cfm) los nach Charlestown, Navis. Die stündlichen Überfahrten in kleinen Booten dauern nur gerade 35 Minuten.
At 10 am armed with an umbrella, I walked to the roundabout and stuck out my thumb. As always, I didn't have to wait long and today Kamal drove me straight to the port in Basseterre! I bought a ticket and 10 minutes later one of the SKN Vibes ferries (https://www.sknvibes.com/travel/new_ferry.cfm) left for Charlestown, Navis. The hourly crossings in small boats only take 35 minutes.

Es regnete
zwar nicht mehr, aber es war bewölkt... grau in grau... Ich hatte die Navis Hot
Springs, die thermale Quelle in Bath im Visier und spazierte dem Gallows Strand entlang bis zum ehemaligen
Kurort. Seit dem 18. Jahrhundert ist
dieses Heilwasser berühmt, aber seit ein Hurrikan alles
weggefegt hatte, steht heute nur noch ein Becken für
Besucher offen. Ich dachte ich könne reintauchen - aber schon nur die Hände und
Füsse reinzuhalten brauchte viel Tapferkeit: Das Wasser ist unglaublich heiss!
It wasn't raining anymore, but it was cloudy... grey on grey... I had the Navis Hot Springs, the thermal spring in Bath, in my head and walked along Gallows Beach to the former spa. This healing water has been famous since the 18th century, but since a hurricane swept everything away, only one pool is open to visitors now. I thought I could dive in - but just putting my hands and feet in, took a lot of bravery: The water is unbelievably hot!

Auf der
Hauptstrasse kam ein lokaler Bus angefahren und ich stoppte ihn - so wie man
das hier macht. Ich beschloss eine kleine Runde mit in den Südosten zu fahren, soweit er ging (bis nach Golden Rock)
und dann wieder zurück nach Charlestown. Meine
Mitpassagiere erzählten mir voller Stolz, was sie über ihre Insel Navis
wussten! : )
A local bus drove up on the main road and I stopped it – the way they do here. I decided to take a little round trip to the southeast, as far as the bus would go (to Golden Rock) and then back to Charlestown. My fellow passengers proudly told me what they knew about their island Navis! : )

Sandra, SKN Vibes: Charlestown Navis - Basseterre St. Kitts

Im Norden
von Charlestown befindet sich der 5 km lange Pinney's Beach, dem
ich bis zum 4 Seasons entlang schlenderte. Und dann
wieder zurück… und zur Fähre...
Auf der Fähre lernte ich Sandra kennen und sie erzählte mir,
dass sie einen Uber als Taxi benötigt – 3 mal günstiger! Ja, ich dachte schon,
die Taxipreise sind auf St. Kitts sehr überteuert… und klar, liess ich Sandra
mich zu Alis Uber (+1-869-6698621) Kunden hinzufügen! : )

To the north of Charlestown is the 5 km long Pinney's Beach, which I
strolled along to the 4 Seasons. And then back again... and on to the ferry...
On the ferry I met Sandra and she told me that she has been using an
Uber instead of a taxi - 3 times cheaper! Yes, I thought the taxi prices on St.
Kitts are very overpriced... and of course I let Sandra add me to Ali's Uber (+1-869-6698621) customers! : )
