wieder einmal war es Zeit Abschied zu nehmen von Bekanntem und mich für Neues,
Unbekanntes zu öffnen… trotzdem bin ich immer nervös, so viel ich auch reise…

Road runter an die Haupstrasse, wo Leston mich abholte und zur Fähre nach
Roseau fuhr. 2 Sunden vor Abfahrt war die Wartehalle schon voll. Es folgten
viele Kontrollen – kein Wunder, dass man zum Einchecken 2 Stunden benötigt!
And once again it was time to say goodbye to the familiar and open myself up to the new and unknown... but I'm still always nervous, no matter how much I travel...
Thierry from Tikaz Toukite (https://www.facebook.com/tikaztoukite.dominica) took me down the potholed Cuba Road to the main road, where Leston picked me up and drove me to the ferry to Roseau. 2 hours before departure the waiting hall was already full. There were many checks - no wonder it takes 2 hours to check in!

Pünktlich um 16:45 Uhr verliess die Express des Iles (https://www.express-des-iles.fr) Dominica. Die bequeme Überfahrt dauerte 2 Stunden und wir erreichten Fort de France, Martinique, kurz vor 19 Uhr… aber es war kein Taxi zu sehen weit und breit. Ein netter Herr gab mir die Nummer einer Zentrale… und der Herr an der anderen Seite der Leitung war ganz erstaunt, dass kein Taxi am Hafen war und er würde mir gleich eines schicken.
The Express des Iles (https://www.express-des-iles.fr) left Dominica at 4:45 pm as scheduled. The comfortable crossing took 2 hours and we reached Fort de France, Martinique, just before 7 pm... but there was no taxi to be seen anywhere. A nice gentleman gave me the number... and the gentleman on the other end of the line was quite surprised that there was no taxi at the port and he would send me one right away.

Uhr – gerade rechtzeitig mich an Deodates gedeckten Tisch zu setzen… : )

fortunately only 1 km away, so I reached it before 8 pm - just in time to sit
down at Deodate's table ready laid... : )
