France ist nur gerade 1 km entfernt, zum Glück geht es nicht ganz so steil von/nach
Hause wie in Dominica! : ) Per Spaziergängen und Joggen Ich kundschaftete Fort

It has been raining a lot on Martinique since I arrived - a sign for me to rest and catch up with work in my cozy Vigets apartment (https://www.facebook.com/vigetsrestaurant)! : ) The lively city of Fort de France is just 1 km away, luckily the walk (from) home is not quite as steep as in Dominica! : ) By walking and jogging I explored Fort de France, which reminds me of Papeete in Tahiti (https://franziskaaeschbach17.blogspot.com)...

Ich musste mich auch erst etwas akklimatisieren, schliesslich kam ich von 3 Wochen Jungel in eine pulsierende Stadt! Es hat zwar auch hier pfeifende Frösche - aber die Raser mit den lauten Motoren übertönen sie nachts! Weshalb muss denn so laut sein??
I also had to acclimatize a bit, after all I came from 3 weeks in the jungle to a vibrant city! There are whistling frogs here too - but the speeders with their loud engines drown them out at night! Why does it have to be so loud??

Nun bin ich bereits drei Monate unterwegs auf den kleinen Antillen: Halbzeit und zwölf bereiste Inseln! Jede Insel ist anders, nicht nur die Natur lässt sie verschieden aussehen, sondern auch die Kulturen… Hier eine kleine Liste, in der Reihenfolge wie ich sie besucht habe:

Hier auf
Martinique war ich bereits 2005 während eines Segeltörns mit dem Katamaran
Vahiné... damals ging es um Martinique, zu den Iles des Saintes, Marie-Galante
(beide Inseln gehören zu Guadeloupe) und wir endeten in St. Lucia. Matinik ist
auf dieser Reise bisher die grösste Insel: 400'000 Einwohner auf 1'128 km2 -
also auch gut besiedelt!

I was
already here on Martinique in 2005 during a sailing trip with the catamaran
Vahiné... back then we sailed around Martinique, Iles des Saintes, Marie-Galante
(both islands belong to Guadeloupe) and we ended up in St. Lucia. Matinik is
the largest island on this trip so far: 400,000 inhabitants on 1,128 km2 - thus
also well populated!
